How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Ambitious, curious, African, believer.
Tell us something about your country:
I come from Libya, which is the third largest territory in the African continent, occupying a greater area than Britain, France and Germany combined. Its population is six and half million, one of them is me. I haven’t been in Libya since a while and this makes it hard for me to answer the question, because I miss everything there starting with the Libyan cuisine, which is full of delicious dishes, especially Libyan homemade pasta: Megata. I also miss the long walks around the old town where you can find anything you want and things are just mixed between old and modern with bright mixed colors. As you walk you can hear the loud laughs that fill the Libyan streets as Libyan people are so outgoing, even in the worst times you still find them having fun and laughing about it.
When it comes to my hometown, It’s located 120 km far from the capital Tripoli and has one of the most beautiful beaches in Libya, it is so much fun to go there during the summer, even though I can’t swim. The summer weather in Libya varies, during the day is commonly around 40°C so going to the beach is necessary, at the end despite all the security concerns, there are many places in Libya that you would still have the adventure of a lifetime.
Why did you decided to come to Prague?
I came with my family to Prague and then I decided to continue my education here. It wasn’t as simple as it seem to be but after some time the dream became true and I started studying in Archip.
Favorite place in Prague:
Charles Bridge at 4am, it’s so peaceful place with amazing sunrise view.
What is your ideal approach as a future architect?
I aspire for a sustainable change, and that would probably contribute to my approach as a future architect. I’m interested in small scale projects that can make difference in communities, however, mainly I want to work on projects which are for a good purpose and that will make me feel like I’m making positive change.
Besides of school, Do you have another passion?
Yes, I’m a freelance photographer and designer to be. I love talking photos of everything and as I started studying architecture I start to absorb and notice more the surrounding enlivenment which helped a lot for my improvement about photography skills.
