ARCHITECTS' Working Conditions

October 21 , 2025

Another Research Tuesday discussion — with Jakub Kopecký

The research on working conditions was carried out by an interdisciplinary team of Terezie Lokšová, Eliška Pomyjová, Alžběta Brůhová, Jakub Kopecký and Adéla Pečlová. A total of 1,221 respondents aged 22–35 participated in the survey; the results were published in the ERA21 magazine and further elaborated in a detailed research report and at Venice Biennale. The findings show that the early stages of the profession are often marked by insecurity, low remuneration and practices such as bogus self-employment, yet young architects remain motivated by the opportunity to work on meaningful projects — the outcomes call for a broader debate on systemic changes within the field.
