„Being an exchange student in Aarhus has been wonderfully enlightening. I am leaving feeling very educated in how views concerning architecture differ across the world. I can also understand why my friend last year produced a totally different semester project at ARCHIP after coming back from his exchange the Aarhus School of Architecture. Things are just different depending on where you study! I can’t say I prefer one way over the other, though.
You may be asking yourself, Milo, what have you enjoyed most while being here? Isn’t there more to life than just architecture? Splendid question. And very true. Here are my top three favorite things about living in Aarhus:
- Biking! I bike as much as I can in Prague with bike-sharing services, but living with the real-deal biking culture here has been so fun. No crashes yet (fingers crossed)!
- Hygge is real! I live in a cozy dorm here and the communal evening atmosphere is just lovely. Many common dinners and movie nights.
- The countryside is just beautiful! I have loved traveling outside of the city on my bike during breaks from school. Visiting random islands here has been especially fun.
If you are thinking of spending your exchange semester in Aarhus, I would recommend you jump on the opportunity! Just prepare yourself for the Scandinavian daylight hours. Take your vitamins!“
