Spring Semester Begins!

February 2, 2026

A new semester has begun, as studio leaders presented their project briefs to the school.

Fessler-Knettig Studio presented DNA Cube: Urban genetic engineering in collaboration with GenAI.  Imagine a city within a city – an urban block turned into an entire neighborhood. 15-minute distance in all directions, including up. 100x100x100m cube, or bigger? – In any case, high density. Mixed use. Vertical urbanism.

Wertig-Kopecky Studio presented ReUrb: An Architectural Competition. This studio will operate within clearly defined constraints, rules, and evaluation criteria. The assignment will be based on an existing or recently announced architectural competition, whose brief will serve as the primary framework for all design decisions.

Kurilla-Prokop Studio presented Rethinking Logistics: What if warehouses could heal cities instead of harming them? This studio challenges you to reimagine one of architecture’s least-loved building types. Working alongside Ramboll engineers, Henning Larsen designers, and Panattoni—Europe’s largest logistics developer—you’ll tackle a real industry problem: how to transform logistics facilities from urban liabilities into community assets.

And Diploma students, in Drahotova studio, briefly presented their pre-diploma research, topics and next steps for their forthcoming Diploma projects. Among them will be projects in Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, France and Bolivia.
