Rethinking Logistics

January 29, 2026

Last semester, we prepared an application for a Ramboll Foundation grant. Today, we are thrilled to inform you that we have been successful!

The Architectural Design studio Kurilla-Prokop (founders of the computational design consultancy CodingArch) will dedicate this semester to the complex issue of contemporary logistics. We aim to tackle this challenge using evidence-based design, a methodology particularly well-suited for this scope.

To ensure the highest quality of our research, we have gained the consultative support of excellent engineers and architects from Henning Larsen and Ramboll, researchers from the Urban Land Institute (ULI), as well as the economic expertise of logistics developer Panattoni. Together, they will assist us in creating a Performance Assessment Handbook, which we look forward to sharing with you upon completion.

The project focuses on innovative strategies that address not only demanding economic constraints but also critical environmental and social requirements, with a strong focus on the users. We will explore diverse scenarios, whether dealing with standalone logistics centers or integrating logistics into the urban fabric through mixed-use developments.

We will keep you informed about our progress and interesting guest lectures throughout the semester.
Stay tuned!
