Research Tuesday Lecture

February 17, 2026

As part of Research Tuesdays, a lecture Architecture Against Capitalism: Tracing Transnational Histories and discussion with Richard Anderson, Professor of Architectural History and Theory at the University of Edinburgh, took place at Viadukt Karlรญn โ€“ Arch #36, Prague 8.

The talk reviewed architecture as a tool for social and political change, tracing architects and thinkers across Central Europe in the 1920s and 1930s who saw the architect as an activist. By connecting these historical practices to todayโ€™s challenges โ€“ from housing to climate โ€“ the question was posed: what architecture can do beyond its usual boundaries.
